The section examines theoretical results that are relevant to the sociology of tourism, as well as to the problems of social and humanitarian education and the functioning of the regional image. The section takes into account practical experience in teaching the discipline \u201cFundamentals of Russian Statehood\u201d at Bryansk State Technical University. The possibility of using this discipline as a means of developing and strengthening the image of Russian regions among students is noted. It is noted that there are systemic connections between the regional image, tourism and the education system, including the process of teaching social and humanitarian disciplines. The methodological basis of the section is the results of such scientific disciplines as the sociology of tourism, methods of teaching social and humanitarian disciplines, cultural studies and
