Federation, the southern regions of the Siberian Federal District &#8212; the Altai Territory and the Altai Republic. A number of objects of historical and cultural heritage of the \u201ctwo Altai\u201d are considered, the uniqueness, local characteristics and features of their identity are emphasized. Attention is focused on expert opinions and the main factors influencing the image-forming indicators of the regions. Objects, brands and iconic figures whose names are firmly associated with the region and the republic are noted, and the dependence of the process of creating and promoting images on the interest of authorities and the population in attracting attention to their territory is emphasized. In order to identify public opinion on this topic, a survey was conducted and comparative results were presented, allowing certain conclusions to be drawn about the prospects for improving regional
