Summary. <\/strong>The images of the North Caucasus regions, the determination of the place of historical and cultural heritage in them require a comparative study, which will allow us to determine the general and special in approaches to their formation and current state. The section builds a hypothesis that the common historical past, the presence of a single ethnic component in the structure of the population of the Republic of Adygea and the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic are similarly represented in the images of the studied regions and are considered as significant symbolic capital. Features, on the contrary, make it possible to highlight the unique things that regions rely on when forming an image and in the process of branding the republics. The uniqueness of the republics, its awareness and representation is based on the unique historical and cultural phenomena characteristic of each region. This becomes one of the most significant instruments of regional identity policy. The study of the image and brand of the republics, including in the context of identity, is carried out based on the analysis of data from a mass sociological survey and an expert survey conducted in two republics in October 2023, using materials from various all-Russian platforms \u2013<\/strong> exhibitions, competitions where regions present themselves in one way or another, as well as studying the historical and cultural landscape of the regions.<\/p>\n
