The study analyzes the image composition of such American monuments and memorials as the Washington Monument in the District of Columbia, the Statue of Liberty in New York State, the Mount Rushmore National Memorial in South Dakota and the Statue of Kamehameha I in Hawaii. The methods of constructing the image of the territory with the help of a specific monumental object are considered. Some methods of promoting and popularizing the image and symbols of monumental objects are given; techniques to increase their recognition both within the country and abroad; ways to attract tourists. Using the example of specific commemorative events, the national and memorial significance of individual monumental objects for the country as a whole and a particular state in particular is assessed. The study analyzes the main channels of popularization and promotion of recognizable monumental objects that directly affect the image of the state. The importance of such techniques of the image policy of the states when using monumental objects is noted, such as their inclusion in regional symbols; placement of introductory content about their historical and cultural values on the main pages of government websites; active advertising of tourist routes and excursions to monuments and memorials; production of souvenirs depicting monumental
