Summary<\/strong>. At the present stage, various \u201csymbols of memory\u201d play an important role in shaping the image of the region and strengthening its historical and cultural potential. Thanks to the targeted policy of the regional authorities, the memory of significant figures of the past is being consolidated in the public consciousness, among which an important place is occupied by people born in the Altai Territory or who came to Altai, and the preservation of \u201cmemorable places\u201d — monuments, ancient buildings, scientific and cultural buildings. That is why the work is devoted to the urgent problem of forming the image of the Altai region in order to create its historical, cultural, tourist and investment attractiveness. The main content of the work is the analysis of \u201ciconic figures\u201d and \u201cmemorable places\u201d of the Soviet era as tools for forming the image of the Altai region.<\/p>\n

The most famous \u201ciconic figures\u201d and \u201cmemorable places\u201d of the Soviet era, used by local authorities to create the image of the region and influencing its recognition, are highlighted. First of all, we took into account such symbols of the Soviet era that are associated with the region at the present stage. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the highlighted \u201cmemory symbols\u201d of the Soviet era, which represent symbolic capital, remain an integral part of the personalized image of the Altai Territory at the present stage to attract the attention of residents of other regions of Russia and foreign countries, for investment and for the creation of tourist clusters.<\/p>\n
