Abstract.<\/strong> The section is devoted to a review of the latest works by Russian authors, in which, on the basis of an interdisciplinary approach, topical problems of theory and practice of forming the image of the region are developed, taking into account the special role of historical and cultural factors. The selection and systematization of modern concepts is based on a high degree of originality, contribution to the development of methodological principles and the introduction of new categories into scientific circulation, which form a new thematic agenda for interdisciplinary research at the intersection of humanitarian geography, cultural studies, identity theory, history and imagology. A new level of phenomenological understanding of the image of space is represented by the category «geoculture» and the associated definition of image resources through the concept of «geocultural branding», introduced into scientific circulation by D. Zamyatin. Being a natural stage in the evolution of the concept of cultural landscape, these terms can enrich the conceptual apparatus of interdisciplinary studies of the image of the region and give it a universal character.<\/p>\n
