the heraldic symbols of the regions of the Republic of Belarus and their importance in the recognition of regions abroad, their influence on the formation of the image of territories and the image of the country as a whole. A comprehensive study of the heraldic symbols of the regions of Belarus was carried out using methods of historical and comparative analysis, comparative analysis, and SWOT analysis in studying the issue. The sources of the research were official documents (ideological materials, state programs, official data from the state websites of the Republic of Belarus), heraldic symbols, news reports. During the study of the issue, the historical policy of Belarus, modern Belarusian ideology, and commemorative practices were investigated. It is concluded that the heraldic potential of the Belarusian regions has not been used enough. At the highest level, despite the accepted ideology of the Belarusian statehood, there is no clear idea of the periods of Belarusian history, there is an attempt to combine two versions of historical policy \u2013 the pro-Lithuanian and pro-Russian. In addition, there is a demarcation in the positioning of national symbols, which occurs through different state channels (heraldic symbols \u2013 memory policy \u2013 tourist symbols), which does not contribute to the recognition of the country and its regions in the international arena, increase the tourist potential of the territory, and consolidate positive associations at the geobranding
